Our Mission is to help ensure that all children succeed in the basic language skills of reading, writing, and spelling.  SMILA offers a four-week reading clinic for students in grades K to 6 during the summer during the month of June.  Students participate in a half day program that teaches using proven research based strategies in the following areas:

• Phonemic awareness
• Structured, systematic and explicit phonics instruction
• Reading fluency
• Systematic spelling strategies
• Intensive reinforcement and practice
• Structured, multisensory approach to reading and writing
• Strategies and techniques for effective learning

Grades 2-6
Monday through Friday
