Student Reading Clinic

Our Mission is to help ensure that all children succeed in the basic language skills of reading, writing, and spelling. SMILA offers a four-week reading clinic for students in grades K to 6 during the summer during the month of June. Students participate in a half day program that teaches using proven research based strategies in the following areas:

Phonemic awareness
Structured, systematic and explicit phonics instruction
Reading fluency
Systematic spelling strategies
Intensive reinforcement and practice
Structured, multisensory approach to reading and writing
Strategies and techniques for effective learning

Time
Grades K-1
Monday through Thursday
8:30 am to 11:45 am

Grades 2-6
Monday through Friday
9:00 am to noon
